Lakota Solidifies Title To Bulyanhulu Area Properties In Tanzania

TORONTO, ONTARIO--Lakota Resources Inc. (YLA-TSX Venture) is pleased to announce that title problems associated with the Ikina Reef property adjacent to Barrick Gold's Bulyanhulu Mine property have been resolved and all interest holders in this valuable gold licence have agreed to their respective interest holdings and have waived the right to any future litigation. Ownership of the 25 sq.km Ikina Reef licence is now established with Spinifex Gold Limited, Lakota Resources Inc. and Sub-Sahara Resources NL sharing ownership pro rata to their respective interests. The conclusion to this long drawn out negotiation lifts the uncertainty of title that has clouded this licence, and allows the interest holders to move forward with the financing and development of this known gold bearing property.

The Ikina Reef licence is located along the western boundary of Barrick Gold's Bulyanhulu Mine property, a property which hosts a reported 18 + million ounces of gold. The Bulyanhulu trend strikes northwesterly onto the Ikina Reef property. See map. Artisanal miners have worked the Ikina Reef property for many years mining surface gold veins which outcrop on and near the projected trend of the Bulyanhulu gold structure. Sampling by Spinifex and Lakota geologists during the summer of 2002 along some of these active workings have confirmed the high-grade nature of these gold zones.

Lakota has an 80% interest in the Tannor licence (18.9 sq.km), which adjoins Ikina Reef along its northern boundary, and a 100% interest in the Bemuda licence (45 sq.km), which adjoins the northern Ikina-Tannor boundary. Both of these properties are underlain by Lake Victoria greenstone country rock, the main host for gold deposits in Tanzania. Projection of the Bulyanhulu trend to the northwest would pass through both of these unexplored properties.

Lakota's interests in the Bulyanhulu area are now solidified and it is planning a concentrated exploration effort to explore and develop this substantial holding. Financing for this major project is being discussed with a number of interested parties and it is expected an announcement to detail the successful results of these negotiations will be made shortly.
