Blackrock Swings for the Fences for Gold in Nevada

I finished my latest book in January. It took another month to get the layout and a cover made just right for it. Since that time about ten thousand people have bought the book or downloaded the Kindle version for free. It is one of the highest rated books I have ever seen on Amazon and I buy hundreds of books a year. But I read a lot of trash, too.

In the book I predicted this year would be the demise of the “Everything Bubble.” In a number of postings since then I have maintained a steady course calling for a top in September leading to a major crash starting in October as the result of any one of a number of black swans landing. I couldn’t or wouldn’t predict just which black swan would do the swan dive first.

So far so good. We have had a test of the highs in September, which is good enough for government work. But unfortunately my prediction of “a” black swan doing the belly flop might have missed the mark. It sounds a lot more like an Arc Light B-52 mission with nine B-52s carpet bombing with 117 of the Mark-82 500 pound bombs apiece blasting the hell out of the ground below. I’m shocked at the constant crashes of different black swans.

I highly suspect my prediction of the beginning of the end of the “Everything Bubble” is nigh. If so we are going to have the biggest transfer of wealth in world history from those who fail to heed, to those who are prepared.

When you hunt for elephants, you want to go to where they flock. Blackrock Gold (BRC-V) put together a forty square kilometer land package on the Northern Nevada Rift, home to both the high-grade Hollister Gold Mine and the ultra-high-grade Midas Gold Mine. The company plans on following up on drilling fifteen years ago by both Teck and Placer Dome.

Between 1999 and 2001, Teck punched ten holes into the Silver Cloud property and reported an intercept of 157 g/t gold over 1.5 meters. That’s both Hollister and Midas grade and width. In 2002 Placer Dome drilled 12.2 meters of 5.53 g/t Au including 1.5 meters of 12.5 g/t gold. But that intercept is 2 km on strike from Teck’s monster hole.

The Chairman of Blackrock, Bill Howald, was US and Latin America head of exploration for Placer. His teams at Placer found one hundred million ounces of gold for the company. He just happens to be the guy in charge of the last drill program at Silver Cloud.

Recent geological interpretation shows indications of continuity between the Teck and Placer holes except Blackrock believes the strike runs EW like Hollister and prior operators thought the vein systems ran NNW similar to that of Midas. A 2,000 meter drill program has begun testing the EW strike theory.

Obviously the company needs to show validation of the theory but is prepared and permitted for an additional 10,000 meters of follow up drilling. There are about $2 million worth of warrants deep in the money that could be accelerated so any success in drilling will be fully funded through the end of the year. The company has identified five potential EW structures and a pair of porphyry intrusives with their latest modeling.

I was on the property a dozen years ago. It would be accurate to call it target rich. There are sinters and old mercury mines all over the project.

I liked the story enough that I participated in the latest PP. And while I have stated and remain convinced we are in the beginning of a serious liquidity event, Blackrock is drilling and results will be coming soon. The company may well escape the carnage that is possible.

Blackrock is an advertiser. I own shares. I am biased. I wish them all the luck in the world. I’d love to see another Midas or Hollister.
