It's Time to Go FishingLarry LaBorde Well the dollar index is heading for the cellar and gold is heading for the moon. Of course a falling dollar index simply means the dollar is falling faster than the other un-backed fiat currencies, that it is measured against, are falling. In a world of rubber yardsticks it is hard to find anything to accurately measure with these days. Of course don't be surprised if the dollar bounces a bit before it continues its slow inevitable decent to its intrinsic value of zero. In the middle of this latest crisis with rising oil prices, a falling dollar, pending war with Iran, and the debt crisis many people have called me and asked for financial advice. If they have been listening to me all along they should be fully invested in precious metals, precious metals mining stocks, energy stocks (oil, natural gas, uranium and alternate forms), defense stocks and few select foreign ishares. So when friends of ours emailed me and asked us to come to Bozeman, Montana and go fly fishing we just had to say yes. Puddy and I flew up and spent a week fishing, relaxing, watching the elk, resting, reading and viewing some of the most spectacular scenery in the United States. While I did not catch fish quite as good as Brad Pitt in "A River Runs Through It", (which was filmed in Bozeman) I did manage to catch a couple of trout. But more importantly I "caught" a relaxing few days in the company of good friends in an extraordinary setting. The time we spent visiting our friends was medicine for my soul. I was able to leisurely go off fishing because I was positioned to take advantage of this crisis before it hit. It is more important to be invested in the correct sector than an individual investment within that sector. As long as you pick the right sector and then diversify within that sector you can weather a storm with confidence. Just trust your judgment, don't panic... then go fishing and relax. (You can count your profits when you return.) Remember to live your life well with family and friends. Then you will truly be wealthy beyond measure. Oh, and if you have not invested in those sectors it is not too late. There is still plenty of upside left. Don't delay, put your investments in order today and next time the financial storms rage just relax and go fishing. Give me a call if you have any questions and I will be happy to share my thoughts with you.
