Shocking Videos: Here is Ukraine since the NATO Coup

The events in Ukraine since the start of anti-Yanukovich protests last November have been reported in Germany and in the Western mainstream media such that we are led to believe the ousted Yanukovich regime was evil and the new regime are the good democrats. What has been deliberately censored from Western media is the reality on the ground. Here are a number of amateur videos filmed during and after the coup that paint an alarming picture of the new regime that now might join NATO if Washington has its way.

While thousands of honest Ukrainians protested peacefully for change and against the official corruption, the control of the opposition was always in the hands of brutal, organized neo-nazi groups such as Pravy Sektor (Right Sector) and, behind them, the hard-core trained killers of UNA-UNSO (Ukrainian National Assembly-Ukrainian National Defense Organization) headed by Andrei Shkil, former adviser of the corrupt Julya Timoschenko. The fascist thugs, in many ways comparable to the Black Shirts of Mussolini fascists, are tied intimately to the parliamentary party, Svoboda, of Oleh Tyahnybok.

Tyahnybok in 2004 was expelled from Parliament, where he had a seat under another party, for a speech where he called on Ukrainians to fight against a "Muscovite-Jewish mafia," and celebrated the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) during World War II for having fought "Moscovites, Germans, Jews and other scum who wanted to take away our Ukrainian state.”1 Responding to subsequent public criticism, he said he was not anti-Semitic, but pro-Ukrainian!

After that incident, the friends of Tyahnybok in the Le Pen FN party in France began advising Svoboda on how to polish its image and downplay its anti-semitic views. It was a PR move, little more, aimed to get political influence.

Both the US State Department Assistant Secretary, neo-con Victoria “Fuck the EU” Nuland, and National Endowment for Democracy’s Senator John McCain, have met and embraced Tyahnybok. They well know who these people are.

Svoboda was founded in 1991 as the Social-National Party of Ukraine, deliberately suggesting an infamous German party from the Second World War era. They trace their roots to a pro-Nazi Ukrainian nationalist Stepan Bandera, whose Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) was implicated together with the Nazis in killing of Ukrainian Jews.2 Their original symbol was a stylized Swastika:

Svoboda’s Original Party Logo in the 1990s

Svoboda now has five party members in the new “self-elected” regime of NATO-backed “acting” Prime Minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, who himself was the choice of Nuland according to her leaked phone call last month with US Kiev Ambassador Pyatt.

Shocking Videos

The true character of the mob that the US and EU have backed in Ukraine is best shown in a series of videos that have been put online.

Here follows a private video of the takeover of Ukraine’s Parliament by Svoboda and other right-wing groups, beating up the elected Yanukovich parliament members. In the days just after the coup a member of the Yanukovich coalition, Partia Regionov, begins a speech in Russian language. Then Svoboda leader Oleh Tyahnybok comes to the podium and forbids him to speak the language of the “enemy.” After that begins a barroom brawl led by Svoboda against the others. Note the Svoboda MP with the long ponytail. He led the beating later of the head of Ukrainian TV 1:

Then, here are a group of thugs led by the man in a long ponytail, a Svoboda Parliament member. They confront the head of Ukrainian UA TV1 for covering the fact of the Crimea referendum and Putin’s speech from Moscow. In this video “revolutionary” goons from Svoboda enter the office of the director of the Ukrainian First Channel TV station in Kiev to complain about his coverage of events in Ukraine. They are furious and demand he give names of those who told him to show the Crimea referendum voting and the Putin speech from Moscow. The thugs began beating him, and after the interview reportedly carried him to a car and took him to an unknown destination:

And after that, in this next video the same Svoboda member (with long pony tail) who led the beating of the UA TV head, defends his actions to outraged Ukrainian reporters who ask him to apologize for his brutal actions. First he lies and says, “I have attacked no one. I have done the right thing.” Because he is a Parliament member, he has immunity from prosecution.

The journalists demand he surrender his parliamentary immunity. Then he laughs cynically. Finally he argues that Putin and Russia are the enemy and Ukraine TV is not allowed to show a program about them. When the journalists press the issue not of politics but human rights, he replies, “In such an almost war situation, every patriot would understand…I have only done something good…” Here is the video.

Fascist thugs patrol streets

In the days since the US-backed coup, according to citizens in Ukrainian I am in contact with, after the new regime dissolved the National Police, members of the Right Sector took over police functions in Kiev. Groups of young men, mainly members of Right Sector, have been patrolling the streets armed with baseball bats and weapons. In some documented instances according to these reports from ordinary Ukrainians, they come in groups to homes of people identified as “pro-Russian” and force them out of their homes or take their possessions, as they term it “privatization” actions. The population lives in a state of terror they liken to the Stalin-era terror.

There are reports that the some 5,000 members of Right Sector are being incorporated into a newly-organized National Guard.

Right Sector is trying fast to clean up its image. Last week the group issued a VKontakte (Russian Facebook equivalent) appeal to anyone in the West with ability to edit Wikipedia, asking them to delete references to their anti-semitic and neo-fascist background.

According to Wikipedia's logs, on a Monday the Right Sector entry described the party as having "borderline fascist or neo-fascist views." On Tuesday the page was modified 174 times, including changes to describe Right Sector as an "organization to protect demonstrators" and a "youth patriot organization." After the intervention of Wikipedia administrators, the page was locked and reverted to saying that Right Sector was "described by major Western newspapers as having far right or neo-fascist views."3

A relevant question is what role NATO and the US intelligence and special forces have played in training and deploying Right Sector (Pravy Sektor) as well as Svoboda and, especially, UNA-UNSO in Ukraine.

This is now the regime the United States State Department has forced on Ukraine. This side of the Ukrainian opposition has yet to be honestly reported in any of the mainstream Western media. We might ask, Why?
